DAY-DIVE SITE - Description

Racha Yai

1 hr 20 mins. ride from Phuket, this beautiful palm covered island has a spectacular white sandy bay on its west coast. It features fringing hard coral reefs, big boulders and plenty of morays, octopus, colorful reef fish and always a few lion fish.

Occasionally leopard sharks and turtles can be seen. Shallow, enticing bays invite snorkellers to discover their secrets.

Diving depths: 5 to 25 meters.

Racha Noi

1 hr 45 mins away, another beautiful island with a wide variety of dive sites; large boulders run to deep water off the northern and southern tips. Some sites feature drift dives over hard coral along the west coast, big gorgonian fans and colorful soft corals, with swirling schools of barracuda and batfish on the point.

If you're lucky, there's the odd chance that you may see a whole family of cuttle-fish, an ink-squirting octopus and even a manta ray cruising along! Usually the best vis of our dive sites.

Diving depths around 5 to 25 meters.

Shark Point

1 hr 30 mins to this dive site of 3 rocky pinnacles, heavily covered in colorful hard and soft corals. Big barrel sponges, colonies of lion fish, varieties of morays and clouds of glass fish abound. Now a marine sanctuary it's famous for the bottom dwelling leopard shark. Divers have a very good chance of seeing this wonderful creature in close up. They can also be seen at Koh Dok Mai, a wall dive, and the second site on this trip.

Diving depths: 10 to 24 meters

Phi Phi

2 hrs 20 mins from Phuket, with time to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery en route. The area is famous for the lofty caves in the islands where the locals harvest birds nests for soup. The dramatic top-side scenery features soaring limestone cliffs and continues under water at some sites, whilst others have gently sloping pinnacles. Superb wall divers and under-water caverns to explore. Very colorful diving with soft and hard corals. A variety of marine life can be seen, with a good chance of a leopard shark encounter.

Diving depths: 5 to 20 meters

King Cruiser

This wreck went down in May 1997 after accidentally navigating straight into Anemone Reef. Fortunately, nobody was hurt and the wreck site is now a really good artificial reef / dive site. Dimensions: Overall length: 87 meters from Bow to Stern, Beam 25 meters. The wreck sits upright on the bottom in 32 meters of water. The bow points north. Diving depths: 11 to 32 meters.
